In Fig. 1, we can observe that the energy density of the lithium-ion capacitor is about 14 Wh/kg compared to 5.5 Wh/kg for 2600 F EDLC cell. It is clear that the pre-doping of the lithium into the negative electrode significantly increases the energy density. Fig. 1 also indicates that the energy performances are almost equal in the temperature range 60–0 °C.
